“Realtors are busy. It’s been a while since we’ve seen this level of sustained activity. Buyers are tapping into the lowest interest rates in three years and home owners who were not in a position to sell before, are now able to do so...Consumers on both sides of the transaction are seeing the value in making a move,” commented Arthur Yatsko, president of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors.
With 986 single family homes sold in Rhode Island last month, May marked the 18th consecutive month of increased year-over-year sales. Sales activity rose nearly 19 percent compared to May, 2015, while the median sales price rose 5 percent to $239,000. Read the full RI Living article here.

Rhode Island home sales increased nearly 15 percent in the first quarter of 2016, compared to the same period in 2015. The RI Association of Realtors president, Arthur Yatsko, states "In many towns, we're seeing a bit of a seller's market because of a diminishing suppy of inventory."
So how did Jamestown fare?
We saw a 133% increase in sales, with 21 houses sold in the first quarter, up from 9 in 2015.

With the gorgeous spring weather we've been having, consider taking a walk at Godena Farm, a 26 acre piece of property purchased by the Land Trust. It is open to the public and is located on North Road.
